Tour Guide at Towson University
Class of 2022
Hometown: Hellertown, PA
Major: Elementary and Special Education
My advice to prospective students is to follow what feels right! Everyone here at TU is willing to help, so send us your questions. There is no better way to get to know a school than to ask the students themselves. Everything happens for a reason, so don't stress too much about the college process, you got this!
I initially had no clue that Towson existed but when my Mom suggested we visit I had nothing to lose from a tour. I fell in love with the campus itself, from the size of it to the little hidden aspects you see walking around. I also love how my major is integrated into one program that allows me to complete it within 4 years whereas other programs may take 5 or 6 years to get the same certifications.
I love that Towson is a big school that provides me with many different opportunities, and yet, no matter how big the campus may feel I always see a familiar face while walking around campus. Even now that we are virtual, my professors and classmates have worked hard to accommodate everyone and be understanding. Everyone is genuine in their relationships and wants to see you succeed.
My favorite place on campus is Freedom Square. Freedom Square is a great spot to get things done between class breaks or hang out with friends throughout the day. It's central to nearly every building; clubs and organizations like to table there to advertise their club, fundraise, or even just hang out all together. It's one spot on campus that is always busy and reminds me of the huge community Towson University has.
