Team Member at Towson University
Class of 2019
Hometown: Towson, MD
Major: Nursing
I believe TU offers a tremendously diverse academic and social environment for students to pursue their interests. For example, I am a nursing major who has had the opportunity to sing in an a capella group, participate in Greek life, take classes in various fields, be a member of a multicultural organization, and so much much more.
Freedom Square is currently my favorite place to spend time on campus. It's located at the center of the academic buildings, so you're guaranteed to see some familiar faces while spending time there. It's also near Au Bon Pain, a great place to grab a bite to eat; right next to the campus library; and a hot spot for tabling events and free giveaways.
My advice for prospective students is to get involved, no matter what university you decide to attend. There is so much more to the college experience than classes alone; you grow, learn, network, and make lifelong friendships through the things you choose to do in and out of the classroom.
When I began the process of choosing a university, I knew I wanted a university that could offer me the full "college experience" of athletic events, student organizations, challenging academic courses, and a busy college town. Towson was able to offer all of these factors as a division one school with 300+ student organizations; it also has an incredible nursing program and so much to do in the nearby area, making it the perfect place to spend my college career.
