Honors Recruitment Officer at Towson University
Class of 2022
Hometown: Columbia, MD
Major: Nursing
In my first semester Honors Biology class, we did an in-depth project researching cancer and looking at a specific patient's information. This was an experience that really stuck with me because we got so much hands-on learning with it. When we found out my sister had cancer recently, I actually did use a lot of the information I learned during this project as well, which was helpful to understand more-so what was going on.
Having a much smaller group within the large school. Towson is really big, and that makes it hard sometimes to meet people and have a community, but being in Honors gives us this smaller community of people that are similar in their educational drive, and that is really helpful!
Make the most of all of your time. At first going to college is stressful and scary, but also the time goes by so fast, so try to not waste too much time by looking back and rather just keep looking forward and enjoying your time.
I chose to apply to be in the Honors College because of all of the benefits and perks that come with being in it, especially at such a big school like Towson. Being in Honors opens the door to so many other opportunities and chances to learn and grow as students and as people.
