Honors Recruitment Officer at Towson University
Class of 2022
Hometown: Stevensville, MD
Major: Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
My internship this past summer was unforgettable! Completing this academic experience, through shadowing a Speech-Language Pathologist at a school for autistic children, helped me gain so much knowledge in relation to my major. Having the freedom to research a topic of my choosing as my experiential learning credit was amazing.
I chose Towson University’s Honors College because of the community. The tight-knit and like-minded atmosphere was unforgettable in relation to my selection process. The Honors College is composed of motivated and dedicated individuals, who take pride in their academics and role in the community. I was drawn to these community aspects and small class settings full of driven students.
Besides the tight-knit community, I love the experiential learning opportunities available and encouraged by the Honors College. Research projects, internships, and study abroad opportunities prepare our students for future careers. This past summer I completed an experiential learning internship and plan to complete another next summer in order to further my knowledge and experience in my Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology major.
The advice I give to prospective Honors students is to get involved! The Honors College hosts events and meetings for a variety of organizations in which you can meet new people. An organization within the Honors College is the Honors College Leadership Committee (HCLC). The experiences and opportunities available through joining Honors College organizations are endless!
