Tour Guide at Towson University
Class of 2022
Hometown: Gaithersburg, MD
Major: Deaf Studies
I applied to 18 schools when I was a senior in highschool and Towson was my very last application and I called it my "saftey school" incase I did not get into the other schools I was interested in. I ended up getting into all 18 of my schools and after eliminating plenty of schools, Towson ended up in my top 3. The thing that really sold me was the idea of change and differences and what a positive light Towson shines on those two aspects. Here ones differences are celebrated and change is looked at as a scary, but exciting time in ones life.
I would definitely say my favoirte place at Towson is the Union. Although the current Union is a little old and is under renovations, it does exactly what you think it would do, unites. People from all years come to the Union, whether they need to study or want to play pool in Paws, it is a place for everyone at Towson.
My favorite thing about Towson is by far the fact that everyone here wants to be here. Never have I ever met anyone who has talked about Towson in a negative way. Whether it be the faculty or a student, everyone always has a smile across their face because Towson is simply a wonderful place to be.
My biggest piece of advice would be to BREATHE. It sounds strange but as a freshman here at Towson I remember college applications like they were yesterday. Picking a college where you want to start your future is a very heavy weight to put on anyone, so breathe and understand that whatever is supposed to happen, will. All of the stress leads to incredible things, I promise it's worth it!
